nighttime ride

...It was a great night, pretty quiet, and a small bunch of us visited over pool and raspberry ale at Founders. At closing, we each picked up a broom and helped sweep up the peanut shells and put the chairs up on tables...that is such a great feeling, to be cleaning up the place with friends at night's end. I think I had a better time doing that last night than closing the usual rowdy bar.

I rode my bicycle back to the west side, riding no-hands all the way from Founders to Fulton Street. Stars shining bright on empty city streets. The night felt like a perfect balance between adulthood and childhood. Maybe it was just twentyone-hood.
